Roles and responsibilitiesPrepare Annual budget for Horticulture based on ABP and allocation of funds and assigned targets for the department
Carry out maintenance and development work pertaining to gardening, landscaping & cleaning for Raigarh plant, Township, Dairy Farm, Astabal, Nature Park, OPJIP-Punjipathra & Raipur
Plan and execute development of new plantation by appropriate site selection, pit digging and sapling raising as per agroclimatic condition
Develop nursery area as per requirement of ornamental flowers(20,000 last year) for annual flower show in Raigarh
Decide on insecticide, pesticide, fungicide, growth regulators, nutrient requirement etc. for plant and flora species protection
Carry out procurement of seeds, saplings, garden tools and equipment for operation and maintenance of plant area
Monitoring the maintenance of lawns and shrubberies and briefing the supervisors regarding the same
Carry out mushroom cultivation and dairy farm activities for providing services to employees at subsidized prices
Supervise a team of 100 employees(secondary and tertiary manpower) for coordinating nursery and plantation related activities
Resolve daily issues on need basis such as problems of road blocking due to tree falling, VVIPs visit, exigencies etc.
Carry out training of team members to educate supervisors, gardeners & workers about good horticulture practices
Interact internally with departments such as Purchase, Contract, F&A, Civil & HR(CSR) for effective implementation, maintenance and safety of plantation
Explain various issues, problems as well as propose solutions & initiatives to internal stakeholders to modify processes impacting environmental parameters.
